Baykola Hava Tari Kay: What's Good & What Could Have Been Better!
MX PLayer's Baykola Hava Tari Kay is a nicely made show. It features the
hilarious journey of Shreya, who is tired of her husband. She asks Lord Krishna
to upgrade him. The situation makes her test the men from different professions
as her husband. But does she find an ideal man?

What is good: From concept idea to cast selection, everything is interesting and sellable. Director Priyadarshan Jhadav made sure that he extracts the best performance from all the actors. The shots taken are simple and look nice too. Editing is also crisp. From the placement of a peacock feather in Krishna’s all costumes to Shreya’s hair in the fifth episode (Guru), I loved how attention to detail was given to the costumes & makeup.
The Scope of
Improvement: The scripting could be a little better. While I absolutely loved
the intelligent jokes like “Real Krishna is fat due to the excessive consumption
of milk products,” there were certain scenes that appeared to be stretched. For
example, the police scene in episode 2, where Shreya talks about the stolen
necklace to her husband who starts inquiring her as he would have done with
another citizen. This scene could have been short and crisp but went to a point
till it started getting boring. Moreover, I feel the scene didn’t land well in
the show. This incidence was more like “problems of living with an actor
husband,” which we have already seen in episode 1. Possible situations
could be: Policeman having no time for his wife; He gets stuck in a dangerous
situation and the wife gets worried for him. These could be more convincing arguments
for Shreya to ask for another replacement.
Conclusion: “Baykola
Hava Tari Kay” is a well-made show. It is entertaining and unique. Makers understand what their audience wants. Made within
a limited budget, the show manages to hold the attention span of the audience.
This is clearly a victory for the makers. I hope to watch season 2 soon with a
slight ‘upgrade’ in the script.
