Shubh Mangal Saavdhan Review

Image result for shubhmangal savdhan postersShubh Mangal Saavdhan, a remake of Tamil film "Kalyana Samayal Saadam (2013)" comes with a perfectly justified cast, fresh story line, interesting screenplay, humours dialogues, and a powerful social message to its audience in a package.
First thing first, the casting of this movie has been done perfectly. Each and every character not only justifies its role but adds a refreshing humour and solid relatability to it.
Bhoomi Pednekar, a new name in bollywood has done a tremendous job. There is a scene in which she visits Mudit's (Ayushmann) home for the first time and ends up spoiling her mood by arguing with him. Later on, while returning, she greets her "would be in laws" with a smile on the face but as and when she turns back towards them and there is a sudden change in her expression. This sudden change is so fine and one can easily get an idea of the quality of her performance.
Coming to Ayushmann, it would not be an exaggeration if I say that he has mastered in playing a "Typical  Middle Class North Indian boy"onscreen. Being in this very comfort zone, his performance is also flawless. Looking into the character of  Mudit, one can easily feel the glimpse of Vicky from the movie "Vicky Donor" . Ironically, Vicky was a "Professional Sperm Donor" but sadly Our Mudit suffers from "Erectile Dysfunction (ED)"
One can not miss the amazing performance by all the supporting cast. Its them who made this movie a worth watch. Being from parents of protagonists to their Friends and relatives, Every actor has showcased a powerful performance. Its because of them that the audience feel so connected and amused by the story.
Coming to the story, The entire Story line is quite new and interesting. No doubt, it has become quite successful in developing interest of audience even in the time when much of Bollywood Romances aren't working.
Although, the staring of movie was "Thoda Thanda" as there wasn't anything innovative but as soon as Mudit's "Gents problem" comes in the picture, The story takes up an interesting turn and becomes more entertaining till interval.
Post to interval, Almost for half an hour, The story and screenplay cross all the bars in terms of entertainment and humour. And this was the best part of the movie that shouldn't be missed.
Mudit's crazy dance and "Mata ki Bhagti"(A funny song based on the music of "banno tera swagger" from the movie TWMR) have definitely wooed the audience.
But as the story goes, it becomes dull.
There is a scene in the movie in which everyone is excited to know weather Mudit has overcome his problem or not. That scene ended up on a confusing note or you can say it ended abruptly.
Unpleasant and Forceful inclusion of Characters like Mudit's ex girl friend and Special appearance of Jimmy Shergill made it more clumsy.
Mudit jumping from ropeway is another unrelatable incidence.
Overall the Story is fine, but there is little problem with some scenes and sequences.
Dialogues are no doubt, Humorous and completely impactful.
More over the movie delivers a powerful social message and deals with many petty  issues of Indian middle class society. If you want to go out and have a happy time with your beloved or even with your family, This is a movie for you.
I'm sure it won't disappoint you.

Stars: 3.5/5
